Why are there different steps for Samsung and Pixel?

How do I check my Android version?
Open Settings, then About phone, and look for Android version. On Samsung phones it is under Settings, About phone, Software information.
Will a reset remove my Google account?
A factory reset removes your accounts and data from the phone. Back up first and make sure you know your Google account password before you reset.
