This policy explains how TechStepsHQ chooses, checks, updates and corrects its guides.
How we choose topics
We write about problems real people search for: turning settings on or off, resetting devices and fixing common errors. Topics come from real search questions and reader requests, never from sponsors.
How we check every guide
Every guide is checked against the official support documentation from Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft or the app’s own help center for the software version it names. Each guide shows that version and the date it was last checked at the top.
We only show a “Tested on” note when our team has actually followed the steps on that device. If a guide hasn’t been tested on a device, it says “Checked against” the official documentation instead.
How we update
We re-check every guide every 6–12 months, and sooner when an OS or app update changes the menus. When a guide is re-checked or changed, its “Updated” date changes too.
How we correct errors
If a step is wrong or out of date, tell us through our contact page. We review every report and fix confirmed errors within 7 days.
Independence
TechStepsHQ is independent. We don’t accept payments from brands to cover, rank or change a guide, and we’re not affiliated with Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, Amazon, Roku, Meta or any other company we write about. If we ever add advertising or affiliate links, we’ll say so clearly.
How we use AI tools
AI tools may help with research and drafting. A person checks every step against the official documentation before we publish.
Who is responsible
Guides are published by the TechStepsHQ Editorial Team. Muhammad Azeem, founder and editor, is responsible for everything published on TechStepsHQ. You can reach us at contact@techstepshq.com.
